Cold walks leave no record. There is no documentation, no metric, no visible outcome beyond the walk itself.
Museum educators are often expected to demonstrate productivity in visible ways. Programs delivered. Audiences served. Numbers reported. But some of the most essential work happens quietly.
Reflection. Ethical questioning. Recovery. Reorientation.
Letting go of the need to be seen working is an act of trust in the work itself. It resists the idea that value must always be legible to be real. It acknowledges that sustainability requires moments of invisibility.
Walking reminds me that unseen labor is still labor. Often, it is the labor that makes everything else possible.
